Model EH Air Cooled Heat Exchanger

. . . The Industry Leader in Engine and Compressor Cooling

Air-X-Changers' Model EH Air Cooled Heat Exchanger is the most widely used cooler in the world for cooling natural gas compressors and engines.

Advantages
  • Combines cooling of engine, compressor, and multiple-stage gases in a single unit.
  • Sloped sections mean greater cooling capacity and smaller installation area.
  • High velocity vertical discharge makes cooler unaffected by wind direction or location of adjacent equipment.
  • Minimizes hot air recirculation.
  • Improved thermal efficiency.
  • Superior air-flow efficiency.
  • Greater safety: excellent visual inspection of and easy access to all moving parts.
  • Elimination of top-heaviness means greater safety, stability, and ease of installation.
  • Rigid construction withstands severe installation conditions.
  • Optional primers, finishes, and galvanizing.
  • Options provide for severe operating conditions ranging from desert, swamps, hail, and arctic environments.

Optional Louvers On Air Inlet Side

Control of fluid outlet temperature is achieved by adding optional louvers on the air inlet side. The louvers also provide additional protection from the elements.

Superior Performance

Compact, unitized cooling combines engine, compressor, and multiple-stage gas cooling in a single unit with a v-belt drive. The independent adjustment of louvers over separate services provides superior air-flow characteristics and increased operating efficiency. Manually operated or automatic temperature controlled louvers may be used to control fluid temperature.

Unique Sloped Section Arrangement

The cooler's unique sloped section arrangement provides greater cooling capacity within a given frame size. This arrangement also facilitates installation by reducing the required skid space.

Exclusive Plenum Design

The unit's special plenum design creates a high discharge air velocity to minimize the recirculation of hot air. The vertical discharge design makes the cooler's performance predominantly unaffected by variation in wind direction or the location of adjacent equipment.

Forced Draft Design

Forced draft EH units are inherently more efficient than induced draft coolers. The forced draft design uses less horsepower by handling cooler ambient air of greater density. And the forced draft design is safer than induced draft coolers. It provides for excellent visual inspection and easy access to all moving parts.

Bolt-Together Option

The optional bolted design allows for partial field erection and lower export shipping costs.

Superior Weight Distribution

The unit's design places the center of gravity near the physical center of the unit. This eliminates any unequal weight distribution or top-heaviness normally found in other designs. This design results in greater safety, stability, and ease of handling and installation.

Outstanding Workmanship and Quality of Components

Designed to withstand severe installation conditions, each air-x-changer receives both prime and finished coats of high-abrasion-resistant enamel. A variety of optional primers, finishes, or galvanizing enables units to withstand extreme operating conditions from desert to wet to arctic environments.
